alooong day when loading your tackle in to your partners boat you drive a lucky craft death trap treble past the barb in your finger.string of cuss word so insues. while fishing the first spot 2 reels birdnest in to huge buzzard nest size backlashes. which i replaced with differant reels. ya catch 2 short fish behind your partner.you pitch a 5/0 ewg gamakatsu -with extra salty paca craw attached- right in to the ball of your thumb. a second string of cuss words so insue. you change to a french fry-c rigged- and catch a short fish that hit harder than any fish you have caught in the last month. you lose a good fish on said french fry. the lake is so rough -from boat traffic- that your partner breaks his trolling moter mount. and to top it all off some as* **** blocks you in again.
dam i should have stayed in bed or even worst went to WORK... zooker

Damn bro,
put the pipe down for after the fishing ;D Seriously Zook, that decribes me about once a week, I aways get backlashes , some ony two wraps around that are loose, sometimes a f/n bunch, but I always get them out...my problem is over throwing the bait after being in at a shorter distance. I've run trebes in my hand before. have seen other tournament guys yank them out with fishing line and pullling a quick swift yank, but I've never had to have that done, I've had one the doc cut out, but after watching him slice me, I figures "I can do that" and do..its only a 1/4 inch slice, the thing is , that barb wont pull backwards through our stretchy skin...it sucks either way |

Look on the bright side Zooker. The Law of Averages says you won't have another day that bad for awhile. Hell as bad as that sounded maybe never again.

Lets see: Impaled not once but twice, 2 birdnests that require surgery, 3 short fish, lost a keeper, a busted trolling motor mount, and blocked in-again...yeah, I'd say that was a tough day. And as soon as you get your reels squared and the TM mount fixed you will be ready to go again

We had about the same thing happen on Ky lake..
sometimes I blame the wind lol seriously, we pre fished all week and one night the cable broke on the trolling motor, we sat up till about 1 a.m. fixing everything, only to go back to this private boat slip that held about 120 boats, about 10 boats had all the rods taken out of them , in the few hours we had gone to the cabin to sleep :-/ |

Thats how its been since I started to use cajun red lighting. I got 2 birdnests my first time out with it. I thought it was okay but the next time I got 4, and that was it for me. Its realy strong and sensitive but please get cajun red casting, lighting just plain sucks.

i have used cajun lighting in the past on bait casting tackle. with no problems. Â*but during tourny's i stick with and old but better mono. ande best stuff i have found period. we all get bird nest. that is just part of using a bait caster. but every now and again do i get a bird nest so big .that it puts the reel out of action. but getting 2 in less than 5 mintues. on a day with almost no wind. zooker

I pulled the classic cast as far as you can only to have your lure hit a very small tree branch on Sunday. I've picked out some really big birds nests, one took me 3 hrs., but this one is getting cut out and my baitcaster respooled. ;D

One day there was white fuzz crap all over the lake and the stuff wouldn't stay off the line. I got so frusterated that I had to quit. Damn it sucks when that fuzz crap gets on the lake. I would get a overun like every other cast because the crap was in my guides.

Hey Zook, where did you place ?
I finished 2nd. Seriously, it's kinda tough when all your favorite secret spots become "community" holes. Who would have known. Not to mention the "fun" boaters, I'm sure they had a good time. There were 5 fish weighed in. Biggun had 2 I had 2 , with all that boat traffic I knew that it would be tough. (my goal was 3) and good ol' Tom had 1. Biggun is creaping up on me. Where talkin less than a point. I better get my stuff in gear. |
