Well, the weather has been in the news the last couple of days. We here at Lake Fork got about 1 inch of rain. The light’n was the biggest threat. There is a new wave of fish moving up today. I saw many two by two bedding mates today. There are still many females out in 6 to 22 foot of water if site fishing is not your thing. Small baby bass crank baits like the Bandit 200 have been good around trees and stumps. The Lake Fork Tackle Twitch worm fished wacky around lily pads has been good. The Zig Zag has been good weightless around stumps and floating grass beds.
The Wave Tiki Stick weightless either wacky or Texas rig has been good around the above mentioned areas. There are many males taking care of fry so cover plenty of water and watch for wakes from them chasing off predators. Top water is just around the corner and the frogs will be the best bet. They get over the slim and other grass easily. I have April 30 still open this month. May is the prime time to be on Lake fork as the bite can be top water and Carolina rigs. This time of year the fish are hungry and are eating and some schooling activity can be found. . May I have the following dates. 1,2,9,10,14,22,2427,28 If any of these will work for you give me a call. 1-888-918-5088 Jim Reaneau |
