Try asking that here:
http://www.texasfishingforum.com/cgi...ultimatebb.cgi I'm in South Texas so I can't give you much advice but there are a bunch of North Texas/DFW guys that post there. You wil be about 90 miles west of Lake Fork-THE big bass lake in Texas.

Cranky,
I dont want to sound like a jerk but if you want to fish a a place that you havent fished before...YOU need to do your homework. Wanting people to give you advise without looking into it yourself isnt cool. If you have looked everywhere and tried everything and still cant find what your looking for THEN ask for some help. You need to know what lake your going to, time and conditons. I hope you dont take this the wrong way, Im just trying to open your eyes a little..... ![]() |

Cranky-you need to look under the lake name. In that neck of the woods Lewisville, Ray Roberts, Grapevine, Eagle Mountain are good places to start.
As far as what is working-soft plastics, topwaters, cranks-pretty much spring/summer patterns. Understand, though what is working here might not be in North Texas-I'm as far from the DFW are as you are from Massachusetts or New Hampshire-Texas is a big state ![]()

I grew up in that area. Where is your dad's conference going to be? What part of Dallas, I mean. There are some good lakes real close to town if you need to stay close. I would look at Cedar Creek or Fork if you can go east a ways. Cedar Creek is about an hour away and Fork is a little further. If you want to stay in town, Lewisville is getting better, and Lavon isn't too bad. Grapevine is a bit further north and used to be good fishing, but I haven't heard anything on it lately.

If you are gong to Fork, try Jim Reaneau. He posts reports on the site.
http://www.lakeforktexas.com/Pages/JimReaneau.html You might try these guys for Ray Roberts or Lewisville. http://www.bucketmouth.com/
