I was wondering if anyone knows if there's any way to mount a bow mount trolling motor on a pelican bass raider. I want a foot controlled motor, but don't know if it will work.
Thanks, Shayn |

Welcome to the forum!
I think you would be better off with a hand control. Had a buddy that had a similar boat and tried a foot control-there just wasn't enough room to use it. The one time he tried it he ended up working the foot control with his hands, which ain't exactly easy.

Dont recall the boat you are talking bout but there is not a boat out there that you cant mount a trolling motor on. Post a pic of the boat you are talking bout and I can show you the mount you will need.

Hi Reb,
I fished out of a bigger one by Pelican than that one and I was very comfy even at 6'-2". Our seats were mounted on the floor and very nice just for two. There is a bow mount on the one we used also... Quote:

Im sure with some engineering spirt, you could manage it. I had a boat like that, I used a hand controlled motor, but I was trying to finagle a way to get a bow mounted motor on it, but I got orders to New Mexico and sold it before I had the chance.

On one side or the other depending on where you want it you could fasten a aluminum bracket that is made commercially of fab one yourself. Now mind you it will take up some valuable room in a boat that small. Now that I know the boat your talking bout I have seen models similar like the Bass Hunter they sell around here with such a modification. Its fairly simple and cost is minimal.

Use a "big Foot" its just a foot button that allows you to turn the motor on, you still have to hand control it.
It works well for me. ![]() |

Bassintxlady and I have one, acutally one like it, ours is a Basshunter, same thing actually, but anyway, there really isn't enough floor space for a foot control and the hand style mounts so easily, it's possible though, but I wouldn't recommend it.
