Default switched to cajun red cast

I bought some cajun line in 14lb. test. I bought it for my new spinning setup but spooled it on one of my baitcasters. I got some Trilene XT for free when I renewed my BASS membership. I hate that line. Broke off a spinnerbait casting it. Made another cast and thank goodness the cast was over and the line just broke, I was able to grab the line before it slid out of the rod. It went into the garbage. I thought the cajun was stiff at first but it turned out fine. I hung up a spinnerbait and pulled it free. Tried that with the XT and it broke the other day. Well the smallies are hitting in the Mon and tonight I caught a nice one about 18 in. and a smaller one. Both caught on a spinnerbait. The river is up and fast but where I live there is a sunken barge for fishing and at the up river side there is a rock wall about 6ft. away down the side. I had to cast over this rock jetty and bring the spinnerbait right up to it and hit the rocks to get bit. The cajun didn't give me any problems coming up and over the rocks. Checked the line frequently and could not detect any problems with it. I am impressed.

i find if it sits on your spool for 24 hours before you use it it works best.it's great line.give us an update when you've used it for a while.

Question....

If red line is invisible...

And if braided line is popular, but often bemoaned because it is not invisible....

Why doesn't someone make red braided line?

Oh well, get out the red sharpies....

Got mine at K-mart also. Try Dick's or Gander MT if they are in your area.

wal-mart sells it...its a shakespeare product.

Red braid would probably still be visible because the line is opaque vs. a mono or copoly thats translucent.

I used Cajun Red upon the urging of a buddy from California. I used it with him in the San Diego Harbor for bay bass, and I liked it at first. I have used both kinds and can say that I do not like this line!!! I has a really bad memory, it is very strong and almost invisible under water, but I can't get past the memory.

It's an o.k. line. I used to use it, but the one reel I used it on, I switched to flourocarbon (sensitivity). I just wasn't "feeling" the small pecks [subliminal message: Power Pro], so I switched to Berkley Transition and honestly, other than sensativity [Power Pro] (and color) there isn't much of a difference. They both cast well [Power Pro] and using line conditioner they both are pretty limp. Just use what your comfortable with [Power Pro]. The one thing I've noticed is everyone changing lines, because everyone else is. Just stick with what works for ya. Oh yeah and buy some Power Pro. lol

cajun red LIGHTNING sucks!

There are three lines. Cajun Red CAST, Cajun Red LIGHTNING, and Cajun Red ADVANTAGE.

Cajun Red CAST is limp enough for any spinning reel and is an excellent line. It does not break easily if taken care of, it really is almost invisible and its easy to lose sight of your line sometimes, and its strong.

I've never heard anything good about LIGHTNING at all.

ADVANTAGE is a copolymer that I have not used, so I can't comment on it.

lightning started as a saltwater line for trolling.it wasn't used for casting so it never had to be limp.i haven't tried advantage yet because i love red cast so much.

I have both still in the garage you want them 2 1200 yard spools with only 4 reels filled off them! I had the same result with both of them.
