Went out on the Saint John's for two hours thursday evening.
I got in, grabbed the tiller, and backed her out. Dad was pulling the truck in, and one side just went down. We had one pole up, and one completely hidden. There was a current, so instead of tying up, I beached her on a sandbar, and helped pull it out. THen got back in, went to go pick my dad up, and as I'm making a U-turn back to the ramp, the motor quits. So I'm in a small, leaky, aluminum boat, heading towards a pier, and the motor is dead. I start pulling the starter with all I got, and finally, when I'm about 30 feet from the pier it cranks. Throw it in reverse, and I'm good. GEt back to the ramp, Dad takes the tiller, and we head out forour trip. Fished holes, drop offs, creek mouths and coves. Used texas rigged worms and lizards. After no success, I put on a spinnerbait, and my dad tied on a bandit. Nothin. Trolled Glass Raps. Nothin. Flipped slop. Nothin. a mildly successful trip. (No fish, but we didn't have to swim back to the dock.)
