Potomac River (Pic)
Miserable day a few weeks ago. Rainy and nasty, caught a few this size throughout the day. Had a good time.

I tell ya. Them tidal fish, fight alot harder than freshwater bass. I couldn't believe it, almost felt like a smallie.

What part of the Potomac are you in? Great looking fish. I remember 10 yrs ago, taking my bass boat on the potomac and landing 6-8 an hour like that. It was the time of my life and I do agree with those tidal fish fighting harder. Keep it up and give Mattawomen creek a shot after the weed/lilly pads come in. But go on a weekday, cause of boat traffic.

Nice fish guys!
Gunny - I see you're from Quantico...I'm wondering, do you ever fish on the base? Many years ago I used to live in Stafford, and I remember once going out to Lunga Reservoir to fish with my dad. I recall getting skunked, but it sure looked bassy, if I remember right. |

Drum, I do usually fish on base, but not Lunga That place is a sisspool!! I fish on Smith Lake out by TBS, I have caught a number of trophy fish from that place. 2 over 9lbs!! And can't count the 5's to 8's!! I don't like Lunga, because of the silt on the bottom, it's about 3 feet thick, I had to do my dive re-qual out there and once I hit the bottom, I had ZERO visability for all the silt that floated up!!!

Those are some awesome bass for the potomac. If you can catch them like that consistantly, I can defenitely see you guys winning some tournaments on it.
