Ok, I had a good day and have a livewell full of weighable fish. Gee, I'm still catching fish and need to cull.
What is the best way to do it without loosing fish, jumping out? Also, What's an easy method to select the right fish to throw back? I've used colored bobbypins but I need some more advice. Thanks |

I have seen a clip board solve this issue. Record your smallest fish to largest with the sharpie. Weigh fish and replace the color pin.
It is quick and works. They make a culling board with clips and floats in different colors and a grease pencil to write down weight on the clip board. That is cool too. Capt Mike |

It is difficult to cull if you don't catch 6 keeper fish isn't it ?In a tournament a few years ago,the first fish of the day, I caught a good 3lb+ bass, I boated him, unhooked him and released him without thinking to put him in the livewell.

I'm not tooting my horn here but one tournament I fished 2 years ago, I had 47 keepers and culled 5 times. It was my best tournament ever! Needless to say, and I agree, I'm happy to get a limit of fish in any tournament. Sometimes that one fish is so close to the fish in your livewell that you hopefully make the desicion to throw back the right one.

Yeah there is a easy way, just catch 5 over 7lbs, then who cares what size the others are, you'll be able to tell LOL. I have the clips, with long rubber straps and a board. I however, like zooker, have never culled in a tourney or fished in a tourney with anyone who has culled.

Another good tool is a balance beam, its more accurate than a handheld digital scale when they are 10 ths of an ounce from each other and look just alike.
