Default Fathers Day Fishing

My buddy and I went to one of the local lakes here in my area. We used a Canoe to gain access to a submerged stump field that is about 7-8 acres big. The lake itself is about 20-25 acres . Launched the canoe about 5:50 AM,the top water bite was on until about 9:30 am.We used the "sammy" and buzzbaits.Only one was what we would call big . around 3.5 pounds on a sammy. All the others where about 1/2 to 1 pound. When the top water bite stopped,we started dragging t-rigged tubes with rattles stuffed in them and caught several more , 2 of them over 5 pounds. All in all we caught around 20.

It's a Lucky Craft lure , used in a "walk the dog" fashion. When the water surface is calm,it's awsome. It's kinda like a zara-spook,but costs 16 bucks

Did I mention that we fished for a little over 6 hours. 20 fish in 6 hours really is not alot. Some days i have caught 15 in an hour on wacky rigged stick baits alone. The right place at the right time is key. When the bite is on , "IT'S ON".

02, by the way. About the 16 dollar lure, would you rather own 4 top water baits that catch a few fish at 5 bucks a peice,or would you like one that catch's alot at 16 bucks. My fishin' buddy proved that to me yesterday.
Plus , that sucker casts like a rocket. I learn something new everytime I go fishing.

Trust me on this one. We spent alot of time paddling over to where it was hung up,just to free it.
