Muskie...northern Indiana
Took the day off on Monday to head up to Lake Webster near Warsaw, IN to go muskie fishing with a buddy of mine. He's 'hunted' them before growing up in PA and all. Once he discovered some muskie lakes in northern part of the state that's all he talks about now. Anyway, we fished all day Monday, he caught two fish around 36" each. Pretty amazing creature to say the least. I had several 'follows' but no takers, and the first catch of the day was a fish that followed my bait in, veered off and saw his and slammed it! That's just not right!
The DNR has stocked these lakes over the years and I believe the count is 7-8 adult muskie for every acre...it's a 500 acre lake! We did catch a couple of 2 and 3 lb bass in the evening also! Quite an experience if you've never done it before! Patience is a virtue with these fish! |

July 3rd-7th. I'll have to see if I can get away from the in-laws...I hear they have plans for us. How much is a non-resident 1 day license down there?
