The bait monkey got a hold of me over lunch today and I bought 5 packs of YUM crawbugs. They were buy 4 get one free. I was just dividing them up so I could keep some at home and some at my cabin. In two of the 5 bags that were supposed to be 8 packs I only got 7.
![]() Does this happen very often? I usually don't count them but since I was dividing them I counted. ![]() |

They may package them by weight, and the machine could be off that counts them, write to the manufacture and I bet they send you a few freebies.

Sadly, in some retail establishments, the following TRUE scenario is often played out.
Most soft plastics come in zip-type bags that may, or may not, require one to tear off a strip to open the "zipper". Some creeps will open such a bag, remove some of the product, pocket it and leave the store. Since the bar code and security code is on the package no alarm goes is sounded as the thief leaves. I've purchased "short" packages of soft plastics, expensive hooks, etc, due to this deplorable activity. On the bright side, two little %&^&#! were caught, post-Xmas '04, when a lady friend of mine observed them doing this and reported to me. I, in turn, told a store manager and the two were apprehended as they attempted to leave the store. They were 16 and 22 years old, respectively. We stuck around to watch the fun and, somehow, were not surprised when the parent of the younger appeared from where he'd been waiting outside the store and loudly proclaimed that his kids had been "set up" because they were...well, can you say "Viva Meh-hee-ko"? Neither store security NOR the Hispanic-origin SAPD officer who answered the call were impressed by his assertion, however, and off to the pokey they went. When their pockets were emptied, they had over 100 bux worth of stuff; soft plastics (Mostly YUM, in fact), spinnerbaits, an unboxed spool of SpiderWire, some loose tungsten weights and lead bullet weights and a crank-bait wrapped in FOIL. There were a couple of small clothing items as well but the kicker was the pair of sneakers that one had taken from the box, replaced with his old ones, and attempted to wear out the door. Well, nobody said they were genuises...just criminal idiots. Why were the store personnel suspicious of the shoes? Well, it was wet and nasty outside but the shoes were pristine. FR |

I was watching cops one time where they would line a shopping bag (like those nice christmas type ones) on the inside with foil, because the security detectors at the store front would not sound. Thats why he wrapped the crank in foil. I assume
