Is there a certian time when you should throw oversized crankbaits? I have read abbout times when you should downsize, but when should you upsize?

I use them when I am really confident on a spot and know their is big bass their because I find it more of a big bass lure but I could be wrong.

In most cases the bigger the bait the deeper it runs, so I throw them when I want the bait to get down deep. The downside is cranking a big bait can wear you out pretty quick.

![]() This is one of the biggest cranks that pro bass makes and this little guy went after it. Any size works bigger will catch bigger fish no doubt I thought I would show this pic I wasn't proud of th fish just stunned at the size of the lure compared to the fish.

It's not the size of the bait, but the size of the lips that are on this bait.
The angle that the lip is placed has it's effect on the depth a crankbait can run.
