large crankbaits

Is there a certian time when you should throw oversized crankbaits? I have read abbout times when you should downsize, but when should you upsize?

I use them when I am really confident on a spot and know their is big bass their because I find it more of a big bass lure but I could be wrong.

In most cases the bigger the bait the deeper it runs, so I throw them when I want the bait to get down deep. The downside is cranking a big bait can wear you out pretty quick.

Ironman, I am now confident that you are just messing around on this site. Earlier today, 3 hours ago as a matter of fact, you posted.." I ask so many questions cause I NEVER catch bass". Now you are instructing other anglers on a lure you are "confident" fishing with? What gives?

This is one of the biggest cranks that pro bass makes and this little guy went after it. Any size works bigger will catch bigger fish no doubt I thought I would show this pic I wasn't proud of th fish just stunned at the size of the lure compared to the fish.

Looks the size of the mouth on that fish which is a smallie, which have really small mouths, how do you think he could of gotten that thing in his yap?

It's not the size of the bait, but the size of the lips that are on this bait.
The angle that the lip is placed has it's effect on the depth a crankbait can run.
