Default did some photography yesterday

well, me and a freind of mine who is an artist (he has a great eye) went to take some pictures yesterday. we rode down to the elementary school that is just halfway around our development. we got some very nice shots in and now we are looking for magazines to send them too. today we are going to go to the woods, see if we can find any animals... yesterday there was a deer but i couldnt get close enough to it. infact there was a whole deer family. we still need to crop and resize them, so these pics arent at their best yet

enjoy the pics

cranky,
put that camera setting on macro for upclose pics of 8-10 inches away if ya havent' already.
Most cameras don't automatically close-focus. Instead, you need to activate that setting by pressing a button on the camera body. Most manufacturers use the familiar tulip symbol to indicate macro mode--look on the camera body, or perhaps on the LCD menu system, for this symbol. Remember, though: When you're done shooting your close-ups, turn off the macro mode or your normal photos will be blurry. Macro focusing works only when you're within a few inches of the subject.
When you swoop in for your close-up, you may encounter a digital camera oddity: parallax. With most digital cameras, the optical viewfinder is not in exactly the same place as the lens; it's a few inches away. So if you compose your picture by looking through the optical viewfinder, your subject will be offset in the frame. This is referred to as the parallax phenomenon.

Doc, They are nice pictures.Macro lenses are the ticket for the insects you want to photograph, as JB already mentioned. Are you using 35 mm, or digital?I don't know much about digital, but I mess around with black and white film as well as colored film and colored lense filters to change color contrasts and such. Bassguy , Ansel Adams ? I think Docs pictures are much more colorful. P N J

nope, didnt get to go. my dad came up with a meeting. instead, i think i may take up surf fishing. ill be able to go more often. see, my parents dont like it when i freshwater fish because someone has to be watching me (no idea why) and they get bored. anway, when i go surf fishing, they get to hang on the ebach while i fish myself senseless. its 33 bucks a person plus a rod and reel- 38. so i figured fo 38 bucks i could buy my own surfcast combo, and till then usse my ugy stik and stradic. loaded the stradic extra spool with 17 pound test today, going fishing over the weekend. will post more pics.

Surf Fishing can be very tough, you might go days without catching any, and in winter, it's awful cold. But, it's one of my favorite types of fishing... It's real cool when you pulla big one off the beach. Good luck...
