Another HOT & HUMID Houston Saturday
Bassintxlady and I fished our butts off in upper nineties temps this past saturday, and had to wait for almost 5 hours before we got the first fish in the boat. It was a very slow day for us and we did try the deeper waters and the shady spots but found no fish in either. We did see something strange though, I believe it may have been a carp, it gobbled up an (angry beaver) aka ugly otter I had on 8# pound and took off for the hills, snapping my line shortly after starting its run. It appeared to be mostly white on the back and looked to be about 32 inches long and maybe 10 inch's wide accross the shoulders. I spotted the huge unidentified fish several times after that cruising in shallow waters about 2 to 4 foot deep, but could not interest it in another lure. We even broke down and "trolled" for fish a couple of times to escape the heat, and Bassintxlady caught a catfish and two nice largemouth while doing that. Maybe she will post a pic of her cat and bass?
Even as hot as it was, still, as they say, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work..... CYA out on the waters.
PS....she was using a Black/Gold Xrap when trolling.
