A screw was a screw- hardware to attach items together
Coke was a soft drink
hoe- farming/gardening tool
crack- something you saw from the plumber
acid- chemical
PB Max
Zero bars
Oh Henry bar
Boo Berry cereal
Hard work for a paycheck
Eggs were good then bad then good again
Marijuana was only for stoners- not medicinal treatment
Prescription drugs were usually used to help people
Neighbors actually talked to each other
Kids could play outside w/o adult and police supervision
Unemployment was not considered a lifelong career
People tried not to have kids unless they could afford them.
(Emphasize tried)
Children weren't given medical diagnosis for being bad, when some are truly just bad.
Being able to pay for stuff you need, not having to rely on plastic.
A handshake was the only contract you needed.
Your word was just as good as the above statement.
A promise was something you held in high regard
Friends didn't screw friends

Truely spoken. When I was bad as a kid, there were many times I thought I was going to need a medical diognosis after ma or pop got done with the switches and the belt. And after I turned 13 that belt had no leather involved either, the lights just went out. "thump

When I was young one of my chores was to burn the trash out back. I grew up with four older sisters and that meant lots of aerosol cans (deoderant, hair spray). I loved it when they threw them in the trash because it was like the 4th of July everytime one of those babies blew!
