This should maybe be in the fishing report, but I haven't logged on in a while and figured I would update.I have been out quite a bit this past week, but it's so hot and humid it makes it real hard to catch fish. Not only are the fish staying put but just steping in your boat causes you to have sweat beads roll down your face. Tuesday-Today had been about 99 Degrees and with the humidy the heat index is about 110-115. They are talking about a so called "cold" front moving in lowering the temperature back down to the high 80's-low 90's.
But believe it for not, I have been having good luck around the hottest part of the day, in which I throw a topwater weedless frog on as much muck/algae as I can find. The fish have been under it through the hot part of the day and are quite anxious to strike. But in the morning and late afternoon the bass have been moving to deeper water, and the bite slows down. Acutally later towards the evening we have been using very large and fat plastic baits, mainly worms, most 7-10 Inches. The ponds we are fishing are very dirty and filled with muck(we choose ponds like this is order to catch the fish under the muck), so using a large plastic worm would cause more vibration in the water, it hasn't produced GREAT results, but a good day of fishing anyway.
