Welcome to the forum, Jennifer!

Here you go:

http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html

That has a lot of great info for someone just getting started. If you have any questions, and I'm sure you will, ask away. You have stumbled on a bunch of bass addicts and tackle junkies that if we can't be out fishing we would just as soon be talking about it ;D.

You could join a local bass club- the entry fees on those tournys aren't bad and you can learn alot. Plenty of info on this board as well Also get a membership to BASS, that'll help a bunch. If you get a chance next off season, sign up for the Bassmaster University closest to you- that one weekend will take an entire year off your learning curve. 8) Welcome to the board!

Welcome to the forum. Your best bet is to dump your husband. O.K. just kidding. As Reb said bassresource.com is an awesome place to start. On nights my wife has the T.V. tide up watching a bunch of crap I'll go on the site and print off a bunch of articles. ESPN2 has some decent shows on now on Saturday mornings.

I took my wife fishing for her first time just before we got married a couple of years ago. The last 2 years we have fished in a couples tournament. We missed this year because she is pregnant, but if the baby allows, we will fish at least a couple of the tournaments next year. I don't know what part of the world you are in, but take a look at the CAST website about the couples tournaments. Maybe you can talk him into that if you have something similar in your neck of the woods.
