Default Glenn Ford, RIP

http://www.netscape.com/viewstory/20...tml&frame=true

There are few left, if any, of those whom we "seniors" so admired. John Wayne, Cary Grant, William Holden, Gregory Peck, Henry Fonda, Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, and now Glenn Ford...all gone. For the most part these men, especially Peck, were not only icons of the screen but were men of great personal integrity.
They gave us much. God, please grant them rest.

It is a sad day, and it seems that we can never replace them as fast as they leave us. I saw Moby Dick the other day, the old one, and you just don't have actors like Gregory Peck anymore. The same is true for all the guys you mentioned. I suppose Charton Heston, Paul Newman, Peter OToole and Omar Sharrief are all still alive, but you almost never hear anything from them anymore.

Bad news...P. O'Toole is deceased, fairly recently. Chuck Heston, with whom I had two nice personal chats with several years ago, is pretty much out of it due to Alzheimer's, Paul's in his 80's and Omar Sharif is frail too.

Wow I must have missed Peter O'Toole. They should have said something on the tv.

I had seen all in some very minor parts - well Newman had a good part in Road to Perdition, O'Toole I think popped in to play a small part in a TV movie about Hitler and Sharrief had some role that played on his middle eastern heritage, it might have been that horse movie that came out about a year ago.

We all know about Chuck, but he sure told those damn gun control freaks off for most of the 90s. The last role I saw him in was a sweet cameo in Waynes World 2 where he delivers the best monologue ever for a gas station attendant.

Oh yeah, and speaking of old actors - my Grandmother was onced cussed out in a fit of road rage by none other than Clark Gable in downtown LA.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course. Ol' Roy sure didn't die broke despite the humble beginnings...his real name was Leonard Sly, BTW, and he was born and raised in that rough and ready cowboy state of...Ohio. Oh well.

Did yall know that Olivia de Havilland is still alive? I just heard that today, and find that kinda amazing, seeing that Gone with the Wind came out in 1939. I guess if you want old gaurd acting, she is one that is still around.
