ok,first, what is the water color? give us some more information about your lake. when i fish laydowns,i like to use spooks and spinnerbaits over the tops of the trees, and then a weightless senko or tiki stick, and maybe a 3/8 ounce jig or a plastic worm texas rigged around each branch. use heavy line,at least 17lb and up to about 25lb,depending on water clarity. hope i helped!

We need alot more info. Other than that, the only advice I can give you is senkos. They are a great bait to flip/pitch around the cover you described.
