Hit the water at 0630 this morning and headed to R4 and R2 buoy looking for bait, but found dirty water and nothing marking. So we headed to a set of reefs a few miles west of the wx buoy. Nothing there 'cept a few 'cudas so we headed East towards the buoy. at about 140 ft. past the buoy we get a double header dolphin. Dad works his in and I get her in the box and then we get Ryan's in who has a friend along too!!! I throw a jig but just chasing it, our friend aboard Jordan drop's back a ballyhoo and BAM another one on 8-).
![]() ![]() ![]() The BLOOD ![]() Put the spread back out a trolled around there for a while, but found nothing more so we headed East again in search of the Stream. Found some more 'cudas. Then we hit the stream edge and we get a little 21" dolphin. ![]() We headed further into the stream but it started getting too hot of water for our taste so we headed back toward the buoy. On the stream line again we pick up my dolphin. and some more 'cudas. ![]() From there we headed back past the buoy with no more hits but with more 'cudas. ![]() ![]() Back into the port by 1730 for an 11 hour day. ![]() Total: 5 Dolphin to 14lbs. 2 Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks 6 Seabass And a dozen 'cuda ![]() ![]() |

Dolphin you can eat not a waste of bait. And they have no fight in them so I dont know what your talking about on wasting bait.

Whatever, when you start catching worth while fish and have to use bait that cost almost a dollar you'll see it my way. And 'cuda still don't fight for squat on light tackle.

A cuda is a trash fish. They steal bait, you can't eat 'em, They fight just long enough to be annoying, and they eat fish while you bring them in.

A 35 pund fish of any species fights good on 20 pound test. A 35 pound brick fights good on 12

I once caught a baby cuda, on a hand reel.A 20lb smallmouth bass, imo, would give a sweet fight! Never been offshore fishing, but looks like fun.
