Default Slowing down

Anyones bassing been slowing down....maybe it's just the lakes I have been hitting lately...(been fishing a lot of new ones) but it seems like it isn't as good as last year....I think it was a lot warmer last year at this time.

the places ive been fishing have also slowed down. the weather has been really inconsistent. i think once fall is definetly here and the temps. stop changing drastically, the fish will start biting again.

Flyrod and I boated 26 today and lost 5-6 more. Best day we've had since spring. Last week the water temp was 78-80. Today it was 74. The falling water temps are turning them on down here.

Here in NW Indiana, bass fishing has definately slowed down. If your into salmon and steelhead fishing it's in full glory right now. However my last two trips to the lake has yielded not a single strike from bass. Actually, something seems to be seriously wrong with my favorite lake, biologically. For the last two months it has gone from tinted green to thick as pea green soup. The weed beds are all but dead, and a few dead fish have shown up on top of the water. Normally some of my best fishing of the year is occuring right now. The water should be clear and there should still be plenty of nice green weeedbeds in 10 feet of water. I have no idea whats happening to this lake, but it's a bit scary. I'm worried that with a hard freeze the oxygen content of the water will not be able to sustain the lakes bass population. I'm going to try a different lake on Wed. The other lakes in the area don't seem to be having the same trouble as the lake I prefer to fish. Hopefully I'll have some success before putting the rods away for the winter.
